It’s my mom’s birthday. My sister decided to play a prank on her for when she wakes up. She’ll open her door to be greeted by a banner (and because she’s only 5 feet tall she will struggle to get out of her room lol), then she’ll follow a trail of happy birthday posters from the hall to the bathroom and finally to the door when she leaves. Happy birthday mom!

Best birthday surprise ever.  They made my day.  Love you kids.

Plenty of relationships end daily and lives go on, but to maintain a friendship after a break up is a different story. Sure, a relationship can destroy a friendship, but that happens only if you let it. Yes, it will be difficult but if you strive for what you want, the possibilities are endless. Becoming friends with someone that you once loved may sometimes be complicated but what if that was your only choice? The choice of still having that one special person in your life, just in a different perspective. Would you take it? or just it slip right pass you?

It sucks that you’re growing up so fast.  This birthday is going to mean a lot, especially since it’ll be the last birthday we get to spend with you for the next four + years.  But let’s make the best of it.  I love you baby brother, happy birthday.

Jumping for Joy

Only a few things in life can make me literally jump for joy.  The last time was when my daughter was chosen to receive The Al Vidal Leadership Cup for Excellence in Leadership at her graduation.  Today, I found myself jumping for joy when my son was told that he was chosen as one of Bank of America Student Leaders.

Bank of America developed the Neighborhood Excellence Initiative, their signature philanthropic program, which recognizes, nurtures, and rewards community-based organizations, local heroes and student leaders working to improve their communities.

Student Leaders®
Sean is one of the five young adults in 45 markets, recognized for their passion for improving the community, participate in a leadership summit in Washington, DC and a paid internship with a local nonprofit/charitable organization.

I am so proud of my children and so thankful to our Heavenly Father.

My mom, she’s legit. Cares about the underdog & everyone becomes her concern. Frankly, I think she’s crazy. But you can’t blame someone for having a heart. She keeps on giving and never expects anything in return. I’m excited to have mother-daughter bonding tomorrow night. Excited to take her to…

love you achie <3

: Things I'll miss.

stephdyjuanco:

Brother-sister bonding. Today I took Sean to get his ears pierced, we had lunch together, and went for a night run. I’m going to miss that once he leaves for college. I’ve always known how close we are, but I’m going to miss having him around. Just being able to tell him how my day was, randomly…
